In a related story 89-year-old deer hunter accidentally shot a horse with a shotgun slug from his property about 200 yards away.
I'm not sure what to be amazed about. The fact that he's 89 and hunting, with a shotgun, no less. OR that he spotted something 200 yards away and nailed it. Glad the little girl is ok, though.

That's actually a VERY far shot with a shotgun. After as little as 50 yards the slug is starting to drop pretty good. At a 100 yards you REALLY have to accomidate for the drop, and at 200, well, that's either blind luck or a damn good aim.

Based in Minneapolis, The Star Tribune is (one of) the most widely circulated newspaper in Minnesota. It is nothing like the National Enquirer. It's just your run of the mill large city newspaper.

I wonder what all the bucks were thinking...

"Smells like a doe, looks like a buck... oh well, I'll hit it just for good measure!"
