That's not really a good thing in a way. It is good that he doesn't just shrug it off and "erase the mistake", but he's also going into this blindfolded and at some point, he's going to get a rude awakening and realize that raising a baby is as easy as pimpin'.

That right there - set for fail. The kid doesn't even know what's going on. "It" is your baby daughter - "her", not "it".

Anyway, it's likely going to work like this - the parents of said teens are going to end up raising the child. After a year or so the child won't really acknowledge the two teens as her parents - but rather likely as brother and sister due to upbringing... UNLESS by some miracle the teens' parents keep the kids involved with the baby in some major parental way. My guess is that won't happen, because people are just "far too busy" these days with their own lives that they can't possibly be bothered to take after their kids and their kids' kids.

This is a case of two ignorant kids making a huge mistake. I hope it turns out well, but if it does in the long-run I'll be extremely shocked. Sure he's caring and devoted now, check back in a couple of years when he realizes the true enormity of what he did and the impact on his life. Same story with the mom.

To open a can of worms, this is one case where an abortion would be justified IMO. The kid's life will probably suck, and the parents' lives will probably suck. Even with family support. Everyone loses, and the pregnancy was conceived out of ignorance.

Chance are the kid will end up in a foster home somewhere.
