The ram is not upgradeable
This uses emmc flash so you can not upgrade the internal storage

Battery life according to notebook check is 7:07 hours doing their wifi surfing test, the Toshiba does very well here. Only Acer's C720 (45 Wh, 9:04) and Microsoft's Surface 2 achieve better results

Mail in rebates are usually fine they just take awhile to process.

Seems like a great deal. I have heard some people say that NewEgg doesn't handle refurb exchanges and returns very well? So you may want to look into that and maybe ask NewEgg about it before jumping on this just to make sure. I was reading through the Slick Deals thread.

As far as the 11", 13" vs 14"..... It all depends on the user as you can increase the text size and make the 11" work. I have heard the 11" being sharper as the pixels are more dense since the 13" & 14" have the same screen resolution. Also Gloss vs Matte screen but everyone has there own preference on what they find looks good to them. However any Chromebook deal is great. Plenty of reviews on all of them.

In the end if you want a affordable portable PC for web surfing you can't really go wrong whichever you pick. ;)
