13,000 seems a little low for 3dmark 2k1...

I know, i know...

It's not real world performance, but everyone knows that it still gives you a frame of refrence..

I am currently running a 1700+@ 2.425 Ghz 11.5 x 210..

My Radeon 9500 Pro is stock..

I am seeing scores in the 20,000 range which i know are cards running @ at least 9700 pro speeds...

But even the people with 17,000... Is it because they soft modded their chips?

🙂

Thanks!

That seems right. My P4 2.8C with a Ti4200 and everything at stock speeds scores a 12,800 on 3d2001. Be happy your getting the same scores with a 1700+ that I am with a $268 chip. I'll probably overclock in the future when 2.8GHZ isn't enough.

Your video card is the weak link in that chain 😀

I`d say that thats about right for your system.
Two things though;
People with 15K + scores have a 9700pro, which has a 256bit memory bus, the 9500s have 128bit memory buses.
Why are you so bothered about 3dmark? Its not like the scores translate into real world performance in games.

My video card may be the weak link, but in 3d2001 the Ti4200 scores about the same as the 9500PRO, with the Ti4400 faster than both.

But i set the project compare only for 9500's...

That's why i figured most were soft modded up to a 9700..

I ran 15,200 on 3dmark2k1 with my 9700 pro and XP2500 both at stock speeds

i consider that a good score

if i tweaked i am sure i could hit at least 17,000

Well if your hitting 15 with a 9700, then i guess that score is right on...

😀

Tweak away Craig...

If you had that 2500+@ 3200+ speeds... Overclocked that video... You could easily hit 17000+

At stock speeds on my rig I get 11500. I have a Athlon Barton 2500 1 gig mem and a Ti4400. I use 43.45 drivers.
13000 is niiiiiice. I wouldn't sweat it. My rule of thumb is, if you have to o/c the card to gain a few extra points then, just get a better card. IMO anyway.

that's what i am thinking 🙂
right now i am enjoying stock speeds with full stability and good speed (the faster the CPU I get the less i care about O/Cing) lol

I'll eventually start overclocking, but right now I have a good up-time and I am not restarting.. 😀 hehe

what? my 1700/GF3Ti500 got like a 7000 or something

hehe,

I used to score 7000 with a 1.4 T-bird...

I was just expecting a bit more..

🙂

As soon as AA or AF is turned on, the 9500 Pro would absolutely slaughter them both. However, if you play your games with no AA/AF whatsoever, the GF4 is still a fine.

Jeff7181 did you overclock your Ti4200? That score is way higher than mine LOL.

Yes... that's with it at 325/650... faster than a Ti4600.

Nice!

I can't overclock this Radeon for sh!t... System hard locks immediately..

It's really funny cause my friend has a P4 2.2 with 1 GB of PC3200 RAM and a Ti4600 that he bought a year ago... and he only scores 12,500 =)

*EDIT* And even if I set mine to the same speed as a Ti4600, I still score 14,300 =)

It's that damn Barton!

Yo i feel ur pain here i got the same problem. 9800Pro and 3.0C... and i only hit 15,000. THG, and compare tells me others are hitting about 17,000. And i have no idea what the problem is.

Might might wanna try Omega drivers, they gave me a lil boost in my 3dmark2k1 score + 2k3.

Here is the site for the drivers.
