12v drops from 12.26 to 12.04v

I have an Enermax Revolution 950w powering a gaming rig. Idle power consumption is 171w while gaming can hit 350w.. I use to have dual 5870s so hence the 950w PSU.

Is the drop in 12v something to be concerned about? Reason why I ask is I've been experiencing a random issue while running an app/game.

Just a little concerned is all. If it is something that raises an eyebrow, I have no problem going with a new PSU,

Thanks

Assuming this is measured by DMM, it is quite a big drop for only a small wattage increase but well within spec.

How do you measure your +12V? The reading may not be accurate if the reading is not from a multimeter.

That's less than a 2% change, and assuming linear drop with load (one should not, without more evidence) and 80% efficiency, it should put out ~11.5V at 950W.

As long as the voltages hold steady during stress tests, I wouldn't worry about it. My 3.3v rail likes to fluctuate a little too.

I would really not worry about it since it is within specifications for a 12V rail. Now if it read 11V or something crazy then I would be worried.

Speaking of weird things to see from a 12V rail: Noticed that my HWMonitor was showing 9V on the 12V rail. Good thing I know it is running at 12V from prior testing or I would have went into mass confusion mode.

That is still within the +/- 5% of the ATX specs.

The voltages needed are not critical anyway, nothing is powered directly off the 12vdc. It can drop to 10Vdc and everything will still work.

-here's a couple of the threads
-for me I only had 285sli at the time , but GPU-z did dip on the 12v under load and did not after. most issues were 470 & 480's out of pci-e spec. drawing to much power per evga.
-it is more of a 12v back up if the main MB connector is not a 100%[bad\lose fit] ,less voltage = more current = more heat on the connection.
--it was quite the fight over there about this and most threads were closed.
-for $10.00 it's worth it.
