I was going to start a thread on this. EVERY page load is 20-60 seconds. And as a mod its almost impossible for me to do my job in this environment. Firefox says "not responding" EVERY time I load a page.

And with a 3930k hex core at 4 ghz, and an SSD and 32 gig of ram, there is NO reason for this. Same browser, other sites are fine.

And to be clear, this is ALL day EVERY day, since I retired 6 months ago.

AND I have 30 meg upload and download speed on fiber optic, all the way to the house !

Are you on Linux, Windows 7, or Windows 10?

Varies, but I'm seeing some load times back to 15-20 seconds. Someone just needs to babysit the site 24/7 and clear those blocked queries every hour or so. Surely that's easier and more cost effective than upgrading the software in a timely manner.

Yeah, slowing down randomly. 12.69s (onload: 14.18s) 14.19s (onload: 14.24s) and so on.
This is on both looking, and replying to things.

*edit, this took 18.45s (onload: 20.25s) to reply, and 16.11s (onload: 17.11s) to edit it to add this message.

Upon further investigation, it's looking like the root cause of this is related to the work we're doing behind the scenes (the improvements that have been hinted at, such as improved security measures). Seems it's causing additional load on the servers, which is resulting in the slower loads you're all seeing.

That being the case, we unfortunately can't offer any real solutions at the moment. The work being done is necessary and will more than pay off in the long run. Bear with us in the meantime—it'll be worth the wait :)

Sounds like a database migration, and not a shadow copy of the database.
Any ETA on this? Days, weeks, months?

We're approaching the last leg of this. It's a large project and in the interest of managing expectations, we don't have a concrete ETA to reveal, but we're aiming to complete this around mid-August.

Was just going to post on this. Did some ping tests and got some General failure responses. Total packet loss at times. Wondered if it was my DNS server. Tried other sites for comparison. It was forums.anandtech.com that had the issues. Did a tracert and got some ungodly hops. Reset my networking equipment and still was a crapfest. Good to know there is a reason. Hope you get the work done soon. Totally understand the security side of things.
