as dealmonkey says, it is possible to have opinions, possibly deeply held ones, that conflict with your other opinions. so the whole poll is invalid and i might as well go home

Your title change was immature. Next time, you will go home and stay home for awhile.

I think government needs to stay the hell out of a womans right to choose what to do with her body, no matter what the issue. This is a religous debate. It is not a right to life debate that neocons want to make you think. I believe life is when the infant takes the first breath. I believe that if a womans life is at risk as result of a pregnancy who's risk cannot be mittigated prior to 3rd trimester, then the difficult choice should be a personal one with that woman, her spouse and her Maker.

Now I wish I had changed my vote - I'd vote for the first instead of the second.

The fact is, the closer it gets to birth, the more human it gets. Can't deny that.

yeah, but its not her body. What about the baby's right to live? Technically, a doctor could take his dagger and shove it up there and kill the baby without actually, technically making any physical contact with the woman's body.

I used to be pro abortion till I went to an ultrasound when my wife was pregnant. It became fairly obvious to me that there was a baby in there and not a lump of hambuger.

Now I try not to be in the debates.

I don't see how people could think abortions in the third trimester are alright, excepting when the mothers life is in danger.

I never said it was an easy decision, just not the governments decision. You may feel different if it was you sacrificing the life of your soulmate for a baby you might have to give up for adoption or a baby that may not live after leaving the birth canal anyways. These are tough decesions, and involve not you or I or anyone else, but so damn many people want to pile on and make that decision for that couple......well, in my book, they should leave well enough alone. Its not our business.

Does that spell it out for you?

third trimester is the last 3 months of pregnancy

It is where many premature babies that are born are fine as my wife was almost 2 full months early.

Women's choice is such a crock of sh!t why don't you abort this turd of a thread.

Yes, and my triplets were 7 weeks premature. I will see one, my daughter, married in 3 weeks.

That doesn't make a bit of difference. your circumstance and mine is not the issue.

Of course, if you don't like the thread, your free to leave the discussion.
Your contribution speaks volumes about your ignorance and bias.

My own father was almost two months premature. Grandma was told to bring "it" home and do the best she could as he wouldn't live more than a day or two. "It" survived, spent 30 years in the military, fought in two wars, and raised two children. Under many "modern" views, he wasn't alive, and could have been aborted. You know how I voted.

Abortion is such a selfish act. If, by the third trimester, a woman still wants to abort the baby, I say she should be sterilized following the abortion procedure.

Abortion is a non-issue for me. If it becomes outlawd, I wouldnt care. If sucking a baby into a sink becomes as popular as Football and a national pastime I still wouldnt care.

Why should she be punished for correcting a mistake?

Let's be honest here. Women have abortions because they don't want the baby. Its that simple and I think a lot right-to-lifers don't recognize that. Personally, I think abortions are a sign of a failure of personal responsibility and are morally reprehensible. But I don't think society should force a woman to have a baby she doesn't want. Bringing an unwanted baby into this world is far worse than aborting it in the womb. Just my humble opinion.

Because someone incapable of using protection and claiming to be "not ready for a baby" doesn't deserve one...ever, imo.

Is that Draconian, sure, but I'm not for outlawing abortion. That will only bring back back-alley abortions and create a health hazard to the woman and the fetus.

Of course, thinking like that completely baffles and infuriates the right-wing talk show hosts! :D

that is the the problem with you libs it's not the circumstance it's the political milage you can get out of it. There is no freaking good reason other than the physical health of the mother and at that I think they should still try an emergency C section if possible.

Yet Another Elite member acting as he's the king of the internet Triple this thread is flamebait and this is not a topic for logical discussion so please keep your Elitist you can choose not to respond arse shut. ;)
