1280x1024 or 1280x960?

Hey guys

Which resolution should I use for games? 1280x1024 makes sense for the desktop, but for games, does it stretch out the image? Or should I play games on 1280x960?

I have an NEC MultiSync LCD1760NX by the way with a native res of 1280x1024.

ya 1280x960 would streach out games and the desktop for you as it is a 4:3 aspect ratio and you have a 5:4 monitor.

1280x1024 TFT screens have the correct 5:4 aspect ratio for this resolution. Everything else will be stretched, actually.

Ah 5:4. It all makes sense now. Thanks! So these wallpapers made for 1024x768 would be scaled properly on this LCD at 1280x1024?

nope, they'll be stretched vertically.

1024x768 = 4x3

1280x1024 = 5x4
