What's wrong with the Asus, MSI and Gigabyte motherboards?...
Especially the Asus...Some guy (Bunny)(1.2 Ghz Athlon) has it at 1.897 GHz.
Liquid Nitrogen of course.
He also said it ran air cooled at 1/48 Ghz...

I just got off the phone with someone at Crucial, and they claim that the memory listed in the link is engineering samples, and was only tested with the Gigabyte motherboard, so no refund or return policies. So if anyone wants the GA-7DX motherboard, they can purchase PC2100 memory tested in that motherboard only.

Hmm I'll wait till they get a 256 Meg Dimm in. Preferabely a registered one.

Lets hope prices stay low till then :D

Why is one listed for a higher price than the other? I don't see any difference in the specs. I assume the higher-price ones are a later revision (?)...

If anybody knows, share the knowledge.

Thanks,

Asus has pulled off their DDR266 Mobo for Athlon recently.....is better to wait until all the issues is solved.

ssrgp0 -- Yeah I heard about that but that email was not from the horses' mouth. Double check www.amdzone.com and you'll see that Asus is still carrying them. The misinformation was due to a vendor that posted an email regarding that false information. Everyone had assumed it came from Asus but that was NOT the case.

If they are pulling them it's not because of any issues with the board.

broadwayblue -- I second that vote. I'd wait til a few more boards come out with DDR before taking the plunge.

dgl has hit the crackpipe! Why would they qualify a motherboard and include "184-pin DIMM" in the description if it was loose chips.

Anyhoooo, any truth to PC1600 CAS2 = PC2100 CAS2.5?

dgl this is not the spot market for chips. The spot market sells in bundles of 4/8/16MB chips. This is the full PCB with chips on it. Even comes assembled :Q

Dgl thinks "loose chips" fit into a Dimm slot on a Gigabyte board...
Poor guy...
