Just FYI : 128-bit memory technology existed many years ago... if I'm not mistaken, it existed back to the G-Force 2 series...

Well theres also crippled 64 bit cards beeing sold, thats even older tech. People should always research before they buy anything though, no matter what it is, computers, cars etc. So if they buy somethign for a premium and didnt research it enough.. well its their loss for not researching. And they can always come in here and ask us for advice aswell.

you're absolutely right... even my previous Matrox G400 card have 128-bit memory bandwidth, although it's just SDR..

*Edit*
Matrox G400 is produced around the year 1998..

So what?

The 6600GT is slated to use a 128 bit memory bus. It's also slated to outperform the Radeon 9800Pro by 20%, even though it has a 256 bit memort bus. Granted, we won't know if this is true or not until review sites recieve their samples. But if it works, then who cares what bus it is? If the card's a beast for the money, I'll buy it. End of story.

Do you know where you posted?

It's a hardware forum....devoted to video cards.

FYI, we already knew this, so it's FYR - For Your Redundance.
