right now we got a big wood buring fireplace thats probably 20 yrs old and real ugly. And i was at home depot and some some nicer ones (probably way more efficient) and thinking about getting one. just curious if most people have a wood burner and if they use it.

Yes, we have a fireplace. We burn wood, but there's a gas tap in it that we capped off. I love wood fireplaces. There's really no substitute for sitting in front of a crackling fire.

Yeah, when I said "fireplace" I meant "dumpster", too!

Yes. It was originally a gas fireplace, but now it has a sealed insert in it. I only use it when I feel like babysitting it all night (as in constant feeding).

I've got a wood burning fireplace in my house. I have not used it yet. I'm thinking of converting it to a gas one eventually.
