Anybody running one of these and how do they perform ? Looks to be better than a comperable nexus 120mm

I t hink that explains the price 14.99 + 4.99 shipping. But 20.1 dBA for 49CFM, that is quite impressive. Too bad there is no discount for buying in multiples, or I might consider it.

those are manufacturer claims....how much noise it produce in reality can be different... i'd stick with Yate Loon/Nexus since they are about the same price and are proven by the "slient" enthusiasts

I have to read up more on these fans, if the specs are true, they will definately replace the Antec's in my case. 😕

The only thing that concerns me with this ceramic bushing fan is the tiny shaft diameter.
If the ceramic bushings was part of the shaft(pressed on) and turned in very hard steel
bushings that were part of the fan housing, I'd be jumping up&down for joy.
Doing it this way would really increase bearing area.

I'm looking forward to the day that ceramic ball bearings will be in common use.
Ceramic bearings are incredably hard, hold lubricate very well and can be produced
to very tight tolerances. Zippy.com.tw has been producing ceramic bushings for a very
long time. There is a decent amount of info at their site about this tech, if it is of interest
to anyone.
I went and looked at Zippy http://www.zippy.com.tw/ >Fine Ceramics.
The flash of the fan in the lower right shows a ceramic shaft and ceramic housing. Because
of the large hole in the housing it would appear that it uses an insert between the two.
This would offer much more bearing area.

Two weeks ago I did see a test of the OP linked fan vs a ball bearing fan. The fans were disassembled,
then the bearings/bushings were dropped from 10' onto concrete. The ceramic didn't
shatter and the shields of the steel ball bearing flew off.

I looked for this test but could not find it.

Iv'e compared the S-flex fan to my Nexus and i must say, the nexus is still quieter but barely. The Sflex fan does blow more air though. Id choose the Sflex since its cheaper, last longer, and pushes more air. The noise difference is barely noticible but the nexus wins in that category.

I picked up two of the S-FLEX SFF21F fans, and I must admit I am very impressed! The SFF21Fs push 63.7 CFM at 1600 RPM, they are barely louder than the Papst 4412F/2GLLEs that I have, but the Papst only push 40 CFM at 1200 RPM.
