While watching olympic high diving, I noticed that it looked really awful on my setup during the portion where the divers were really moving fast and also when NBC wiped their logo rapidly across the screen. I captured the raw stream to look at it later, and I don't think it's just my setup: shot 1 shot 2 (I scaled the images down a bit, but didn't do any deinterlacing or post-processing). If the whole point is to make fast motion look better, but the content providers over-compress the data anyways, does the 120Hz frame interpolation help? Is NBC's olympic coverage just particularly bad or is all live content like this? Do you only get a benefit from 120Hz when watching Blu-Ray movies?
