2 Models

for $49.00 you get a "baytrail" 22nm atom Z3735F 1.33 base, 1.83 turbo quad core atom processor.

https://www.microsoftstore.com/stor...-Signature-Edition-Tablet/productID.608755100

for $59.00 you get a "cherrytrail" 14nm atom x5-Z8300 1.44 base, 1.84 turbo quad core atom processor.
https://www.microsoftstore.com/stor...Signature-Edition-Tablet/productID.5078216000

A key difference between the two is for $10 more you get better graphics. The cherrytrail platform for graphics has 12 Gen 8 EUs, the baytrail platform has 6 Gen 7 EUs.

Both units have 2gb RAM (cherrytrail ram is 1600 mhz vs 1333 mhz), both are 32gb EMMC storage, both units have micro sd, microusb (for charging and transfer), micro hdmi.

The cherrytrail model is 10% lighter. 33% thinner, and its width bezels / width is half an inch less wide (same screen size just less bezel)

Note this is a Friday only sale. Microsoft is doing a 12 day of christmas sales and this is their day 5 sale. After today sale there will be 7 more one day sales.

Would be all over this if it was possible to root it.
The eMMC on these units is really slow as well.

The $59 one also has Bluetooth 4.0 instead of ... 3.x?

PassMark score is 1200 instead of 900.

Both have (micro?) SD card slots.

I was very close to buying one, but don't have any real use for it.

Someone posted this on Slickdeals, too, early thie morning, but after an initial once-over, I put it off, so thanks, OP for post here, which reminded me to get back to it... (And fwiw, the P610L must've gone out of stock very early, since that was already gone when I first looked at the website, at least an hour or so before the OP started this thread...)

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the P610L is not coming back "into stock", at least not for the rest of today while this sale is on... Just got off the phone trying to find it if it was available in-store here in NYC and I think the upshot was that it's out of stock anywhere within a reasonable distance of the city. (I say "I think", because the find-in-store option on the product page isn't working (apparently during the sale) and the phone rep I spoke to (who wasn't actually in either store) first said he couldn't give me an "inventory check" but then did seem to (?) say he could tell me they were in fact out of stock altogether... But the only real reason I the Win10 Pro version was to be able to delay updates, which probably isn't a huge issue on a tablet, and there's an extended holiday return period with free returns to boot, so ordering first and asking questions later seemed the way to go. And the guy gave me free express shipping, so that was nice, I wasn't looking forward to getting on the subway to make a mad dash to one of their stores at this point in the evening without even being sure even the W610L would still be there by the time I got there. (And even the 560L has gone out of stock online at this point...)

I can't imagine paying full price for it, but at the moment all I'm really looking for in a tablet is the cheapest, most reasonable substitute/replacement for a 32GB Kindle Fire HD I lost earlier this year, and this should do that admirably, if nothing else... with "normal" access to peripherals, higher resolution, and a microSD card slot in the bargain...

Oh forgot to mention many of the physical microsoft store locations will have these products as well so if you are out of stock online do not forget to see if there is a microsoft store in your local area.
Here is a find a store link
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/locations/find-a-store?icid=en_US_Store_UH_FAS
Just F everyone's I, apparently they're not allowed to give out inventory info over the phone on sale items, though it did seem like they'd tell you if a particular store does or doesn't have it in stock at all as of the time you speak to them on the phone.) So if they say they do have them, all you can do is hope they'll still be there by the time you get there... :(

If the tablet isn't 10", it isn't worth buying at any cost. I've had enough of cramped web pages on a Nexus 7 first gen.

The W610L, which was the last to go, seems have sold out online at this point...

Mine already shipped. Sweet deal.
I found the shipping notice in my inbox when I got home tonight. It hasn't actually been handed off to UPS yet, but the label was created and it's scheduled for Tuesday delivery. Given the paucity of online reviews, and some of the comments from existing owners on Slickdeals, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it does at least as well as my Kindle Fire but I guess I'll find out for myself soon enough...

Original Poster here, I received my tablets in the mail. I purchased two of the $59 cherrytrail models. Does anyone have any questions they want answered?

I exercised "restraint" on this deal... I had one in my cart, but seeing as how I already spent my spare money this month, I had to say no.

Plus, I already have an HP Stream tablet, and several Winbook tables, among others.

Though, I considered the FHD screen, and Windows 10, to be pluses to be experimented with.

I got the $59 one against my better judgement.

I say against my better judgement because I've tried BT/CT tablets before. I've tried HP Envy Note 8 and HP 608G1, and both were sluggish enough in normal web browsing to be annoying, and with the 2GB models can't even dream of opening multiple tabs. I ended up returning both of those.

That said, this is only $59, my hope that the price point will make it much more palatable. As long as I can use Edge with adblocker to watch youtube videos I think I'll be OK? Maybe? I hope?

Mine's due this evening, so no pressing questions, but what do you think, in general?

Bay Trail/Cherry Trail, essentially atom tablets. I've tried Atom back in the windows XP days with Asus eeepc, it was painfully slow back then, I've tried newest Cherry Trail tablets too, they've come along far considering they can run Win10 now, but they're still painfully slow. The only redeeming quality is $59 price point.

Mine came in a couple of hours ago. So far, I am digging this tablet. Pretty speedy for what it is. Screen looks very good. The biggest surprise was how well it's made. I was expecting plastic and got metal. Gonna throw in a 200gb SD card tonight and install some apps.

Well, got the tablet, some light bleed around the edges, speakers are crappy, I want to say worse than on my 2014 Moto X. Otherwise it's good tablet for the money.

I've got a problem though. I wanted to take advantage of adblocker in Edge, but the tablet came with 1511 build preinstalled and I needed 1607 for edge to support addons. I did clean reinstall of 1607, but windows is having troubles finding drivers. I connected usb to ethernet dongle, so it found some drivers, but the device manager is still a sea of yellow triangles, for example wifi still won't work and I have no battery level indicator. There are no drivers on nuvision website either. Any advice?

In general I am impressed. Good build quality, the screen is good. CPU and Memory are great for this device.

The emmc is not very fast (not horribly slow, but just not very fast). I may post benchmarks later. It is good for the stuff I am using it for but this is the true limiting factor of the device and not something like the cpu, memory, or ram (4gbs vs 2gbs).

But for the price of the device I am not complaining. I been very happy so far with this impulse buy purchase.

Oh the screen is gorgeous but the screen is definitely not gorilla glass. I stupidly put my keys and this tablet in the same bag and got a very minor, barely noticeable, but very much scratch on one of my two tablets I purchased.
