ok, it's not a revolution but i am guessing wether it would be a reasonable change to be made (not changing any other component).
First of all i even do not know if my abit kt7a-raid (latest bios but not being 1.3 hw version) would tolerate that chip. i have read that it does...
so the questions are two:
-does it accept it (has anybody tried it)
- if so, is there a real performance gain compared to my overclocked 1.2 (141x10=1410) running 768 mb crucial pc133?
thanks.

I would say not that much of an increase...I would save cash and look at getting a newer board and a good 2100+XP TO 2500+ BARTON RANGE....

I would say you will not have any problems....
You might even try to get the T-bread version of the XP. This would make your current cooling setup more than adequate. You should be able to sell your T-bird for about $35.00, so the total cost of the upgrade would be about $25.00...
Go for it!
You will get much cooler running setup, and I am positive that you will not have any issues. I had 1.2 rev of KT7A mobo running XP 1800+ for a few weeks and I had no problems. Then I switched to KR7A, and finally I converted to a dark side....
