Found this deal on techbargains for a Lexmark Printer for cheap. List Price is $119.99, vstores price is $69.96. There is a rebate of $40.00, bringing the price to $29.96. Because the price listed is $69.96 you can get a coupon for $20 off $60 from techbargains coupon page (down at the bottom) to bring the price to $9.96. Not sure what shipping is, but good price none the less. That is if you like Lexmark.

You could combine this deal with the one on atyouroffice.com, that has the $30 off $60 coupon and get 2 printer cartridges for the price of one...You get a printer and 4 cartridges(assuming 2 come with the printer) for what $45 bucks...not bad.

No vstores, no coupon numbers, and no links to coupon numbers, please.

Thank you,

You know, Lexmark ain't stupid. Sell cheap printers to get started then rape em for the cartridges. Other manufacturers do it too. Lexmark has highest cost per page and HP the lowest (on average).

Great intro printer especially if you learn how to refill cartridges!

Just a note the Z12 (basically same but with usb) is usually selling for about $59 at Target and Wally World but without rebate.

It's funny that a ton of printers are using the same cartridge. I can use that same cartridge(usually have to remove a plastic tab insert in the carriage) from the Z-11 in a Compaq I900, I300, Z-31, Lexmark 5770, Brother multifunction 7050, Xerox multifunction 470c. There are many other printers/manufacturers that essentially uses the same print cartridge.

Heck, for prices like that, just buy two or three printers, and use the cartridges from the others. Then sell the extra printers on E[/b]bay

Shipping for me in Colorado is $7.99 with a total cost of $57.95 before $40 rebate and $17.95 after rebate. It's still a good deal when you consider I used to pay $28 for a black ink refill at Walmart for my Canon BJ 200.

I'm just debating on whether I need another printer or not.

By the way it comes with a bonus printer cable.

rebuilder, This has been talked about to death already. trust me, lexmark doesn't rip you off any more than any other printer company as far as cartridges are concerned. My 12A1975 heavy duty black cartridge for my Z11 has lasted me several months and has turned out to be the best bargain off all my printers. I have a HP 660CSE, Epson Stylus Photo 750 and a lexmark Z-11. If you want to talk about getting RIPPED OFF take a look at that tiny black cartridge in my Epson printer. Sure its only $20.00 but this thing is small and doesn't last long. Not all printer cartridges are equal. BTW have you priced any HP cartridges lately? They are not any cheaper than Lexmark cartridges. BTW Lexmark paid me $10.00 after rebate to take the Z-11 off there hands. This thing blows away my Epson in text quality.

it doesn't come with a black cart. That costs $30 alone. I do own one, and its "not that bad". Got it and got paid $12 to take it. Man, I miss Staples 155% LPG! If you like the Z11, the Z31 can be had for $10 more in most stores, comes with both black and color carts and holds both at the same time(No more swapping carts)

dirtrat,
As I said "Other manufacturers do it too." (i.e., "rape em for cartridges")
I am as big a fan of Lexmark than most.
I am somewhat embarrassed (maybe a fetish)but I own the following Lexmarks: Z-11, Z-31,Z-51, Z-52, 5770 Photo. I also own the Xerox 470 and two Compaq I-900's which use the same cartridge. And for comparison I also have the HP 930 (e-stamp), HP 250c inkjet plotter, Canon 5100, Canon 1000, Epson Stylus Color (one of the first models- no numbers) and the Epson 740. (non inkjets- HP 6L Laser,Roland sign cutter/plotter, Citizens America (thermal dye-transfer)

Once again. Most print manufacturers rape the consumer for the consumables! No doubt about it. That's where they make their money. And Lexmark has led the way for the last couple of years by offering low price printers with large rebates and selling some of the more expensive cartridges when you look at the volume of ink that is in the cartridge. (again, on average, and you will find exceptions but usually across the board HP has offered the cheapest cost per ml of ink per cartridge)

And yes it's a good intro(single vs. dual cartridge) printer especially if you can refill your own cartridges.

And that's about all I've got to say about that.

The Lexmark based printer cartridges are expensive because the heads have to be laser cut. They are more expensive to manufacture than cartridges from Epson, Canon, or HP.
