<< My bad, it's 120 (new limit, not 130). 130 was the old limit:Q

Just heard it again on CNN. I must have been listening too hard the first time :)

I can totally understand this. I mean it's not too easy lifting and throwing girls up in the air and catching them, especially if they have a bit of weight to them, it's just a requirement and a usual part of cheerleading. What the hell does a guy want to be a cheerleader for anyhow? *sarcasm*wonder of the guys are gay*sarcasm*

If ti is ok to expect certain atheletes to be big, like football players, why isn't it ok to expect Cheerleaders to be small?
Really, any argument against it, is better as an argument against sports in college at all.

Oh god, this reminds me of our horrible high school days. Damn our cheerleaders were horrible. They didn't do any dancing, gymnastics, or anything of that sort. All they did was a few hand and leg motions because none of them were in shape enough to do anything.

Hasn't some lawyer jumped all over this yet?
Class action lawsuits and such sound like they are just around the corner.

<--- was a male cheerleader.

Loved the lifting, throwing, tossing. I remember training the gals trying out. Throwing the ladies that were 140+ in to the air was a bit "taxing". While I don't blame 'em for changing the weight limit, it does cause a bit of a predicament.

We must protect the standards which our children deserve when they are at a sporting event. In fact, we all have the right to see cheerleaders thrown as high as possible and should demand that even more stringent weight limits be put in place. How will we ever achieve true team spirit if our cheerleaders are not thrown high enough?

Maybe they should put a strength requirement on all the cheerleaders.
