Thugs raising thugs to be thugs, all acting like thugs. All of them should be in jail, including the second adult and whoever made the video.
Race shouldn't even factor into this. The reporter from the video was more concerned with the use of the N-word that the fact that the girl got beat down by adults.
Props to the black girl when she said being called the N-word didn't bother her, though she is likely as much a thug as the rest. Boo to the her mother for playing the race card and calling it a "hate crime" during the interview to try and ramp the incident up.

She deserves about as much props as the guy who got maced by the woman at the convenience store that is also all over ATOT.
Every single one of these people were partially responsible for what happened to them. You have every right to decide to settle things in an alley way. You have every right to repeatedly push the buttons of some woman buying muffins at the convenience store. Just don't come crying to me when they spray you in the face, or call you the "n" word.
You put yourself in a situation to get it. At least the other people who film the cops and push their buttons think they are helping the greater good by defending our rights.
Neither side deserves props, even the girl who got her ass beat. You act as if you can't be the bigger man and walk away? Or simply not shown up? OH NOEZ SHE WILL GET MADE FUN OF / BULLIED / <insert some other BS>

meh. i won't blame the 12 yr olds as much.
The adults on the other hand should have handled it better. they had the option of taking there daughter and leaving, they had the option to not jump the girl.
they should be arrested and hopefully do jail time.

It has nothing to do with the little girl who got beat up. They are all guilty of this thug mentality that it's ok to viciously assault someone over words.

You really have no way of knowing what led up to the fight itself. Were you seriously never involved in a fight as a kid? I don't think it's a good thing by any means, but it does happen occasionally and it doesn't necessarily make all the participants "thugs." Often there is an aggressor and a victim who is basically just fighting back. According to that same video, the two girls in the fight had been friends at one time and had a falling out - it doesn't sound like a bullying situation - but we don't know whether one or the other was an aggressor here.
As for what happened, I'd like to know who recorded the video and to see the entire thing in context, but it certainly appears from this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TA9YfUx94Dw - at about 0:26, that the mother in blue was the first one to start the fight, by pulling the girl in pink to the ground. If it's really true this was an intentional ambush I'd hope these women will get hammered. Even if all they did was join a fight between two 12-year-olds, rather than breaking it up, they should have consequences, but not not necessarily felony-level ones.
I think the victim seems surprisingly well-adjusted. I can't seriously blame her mother for calling this a hate crime (though I'm not sure either way) because her 12-year-old daughter was apparently attacked by three people, including two adults, and the N word was used.

That's a refreshing post I can agree with. I'd really like to know more about what led up to this, but can't fault the 12-year-old for standing up for herself. Being teased/abused is bullshit any way you look at it, and a good old fashioned stand-up-for-yourself fight is not the worst thing that can happen (though it's not an ideal situation to be sure).
On the other hand, race issues suck major balls. I have absolutely zero problems with black folks or any folks of any race/sex/age/creed/etc. That said, I've noticed that I get treated rudely by black people more often than any other race (with a close second being white people, lol). I open doors for people, etc, just as common courtesy. Just the other day I was opening the door at my local stop n rob for a black guy and his buddies carrying out a case of beer and he very obviously intentionally slammed into me while exiting, which all seemed super hilarious to all of them. I just smiled politely and started to walk inside, which seemed to change it from funny to offensive to them. The last things I heard while the door was closing was something like 'what you gonna do about it, *unintelligible* n*gga?'. Sigh. I'll just leave it that there are dumbasses of every race, the news is enough to show that for certain. I'm not gonna let some jackass make me into a racist, I go about my day treating everyone with equal and free respect and kindness unless I'm really pushed above and beyond by someone.
