I had 2 words for that guy, but now that I think about it, 'redneck' is only one word. Who the hell would fix up a minivan to race?

<< Who the hell would fix up a minivan to race >>

Someone who doesn't have enough money to buy a new car just to race. Who cares what kind of car/truck it is, as long as it's fast. 12's are 12's no matter what you're driving :)

If it does 12s in the 1/4mi..doesn't that mean it's faster than a Porsche 911Turbo?

Can you imagine this van coming next to a 911Turbo and wanting to race it? Can you imagine the expression on the face of the person driving the 911Turbo? Oh my..that would be worth the amount put into the car!

Being toasted by a beat-up Mini-Van!!

LOL!

Don't forget that alot of those 10 second rice mobiles are completely unstreetable. Nothing like filling in the water jackets to strengthen the block. They may get torn down every run, but Gus's van and acclaim are daily drivers!
Besides 12s in a minivan are awesome shock value, many people call that a sleeper Pretender :p Nothing like a minivan blowing the doors off your brand new 'vette! So Wangel which forum are you on? I'm a member of the sdml, fmpml, eek, g-force, and I think another one!

I'm glad my dad doesn't surf the web much... He has a pimped out 99' Caravan... He has yet to touch the drive-train but he has pimped the looks. It's lowered 5inches, has the bug sheld, windjammer, 17" rims, black windows, graphics kit... ect.

I do think the engine needs a little work in his van though... 3.3l v6 and it would get like an 18 in the 1/4 ;).

I'd like to see an Astro or Safari with a rodded up Syclone of grand national engine shoved in it (or a lingenfelter 383)

Not sure if it was the same one mentioned below (the renault thing) but I saw pics of an "F1 minivan" some years ago in a magazine...it was doing 1-2 G and had insane power. General minivan shape, but I dunno what it started out as.

Where is the engine located in these domestic late 80's vans? Center console where u work on it from the inside? Hood? or under the seats like my Previa?

Call me a redneck then. My truck runs 10's. :) Yeehaw!

What happened to the "best car" thread anyway? It was here earlier.
