So does this mean we're going to start arming all immigrants? Lots of people on the forums would be happy with that!

Well... i think republicans would be in conflict... on one hand, gun rights... on the other hand, they hate immigrants.

Just full of trolls today, eh?

first thing I thought when I saw this was some republican gone nuts on immigrants.

I wasn't meaning you when I posted that. You just happened to be what the troll quoted.

First thing I thought of was someone who was rejected and went to take it out on those who work there. :shrug;

39 people dead/wounded

That's quite a total. It makes you realize how efficient guns are at what they do.

It makes me realize how people will place the blame on a gun rather than the real causes.

It makes me angry that the state of NJ will not let me carry a gun to protect myself from people like this guy. :|

Trying to cure the symptom rather than the disease. Are you really surprised?

You are quite the troll arent you?
Your wishful thinking about it being a white guy hating immigrants fell flat on its face as well.

All of this could have turned out better if there had just been somebody with a concealed firearm. At the very least that person could protect their own life or the life of others. Will NY use this event to push better concealed carry laws like most all other states? My guess is no.

The real disease is the hatred for yourself and all other people.

The fact that many people need a gun to feel secure in yourself is just one symptom of this larger problem.

Even more hatred. Should we be afraid of a gun in your hands as well?

yup, because the gun pulled its own trigger, and we all know it was legally registered, and bought, along with having a mind of its own to shoot innocent people...

wait...

A need for a gun to feel secure is often a recognition of reality, especially for the elderly, or the disabled.

The truth of the matter is when people have access to guns, some people will use them for a bad end, and some people will use them for a good end. Too many people seem to believe that we can make the world a better place just by taking power away from everyone until they are all so weak that none of them can harm anyone else. If you look around at the world and think that the only way to make it better is to make everyone weak, I think that is a very sad thing. Fortunately, such a view seems to be based on fear, and sensationalized events, throughout our nation many people use firearms to defend themselves and others, more than use them for crimes like this.

Who is this average person? Such blanket statements are fairly stupid. There is no such thing as an "average" person. What about a woman being stalked by her ex-husband, or an elderly man who lives in a bad neighborhood, do they not deserve a tool that can protect them when someone stronger than them attempts to use force to rob them of their lives?

Edit: Just a few days ago you were telling someone they were stupid for not believing in GW because of all the evidence to support man made global warming. However, when it comes to gun control, and all the studies that show it does not do any good, you seem to suddenly believe that research is a foolish thing to listen to. I find your lack of consistency to be very frustrating.

And the 13 average people who are now dead might disagree with you.

The interesting thing will be finding out when they guy killed himself. Apparently he was not out of ammo so something must have trigged his suicide and I would not be surprised to find out that he killed himself the second the police showed up.

Shooting rampages almost always end when someone else with a gun, usually the police, shows up.

The many hundreds of thousands of 'average people' that use a firearm annually to defend themselves disagree with you. So did the founding fathers, the framers of nearly every state Constitution, the Supreme Court of the United States, similar entities in numerous other nations throughout the world, etc, etc, etc.

Wow, even one of the news stations was ripping on another for exaggerating the number of wounded "how can there be that many wounded if we've only seen what appears to be a few ambulances leaving the scene?"

Of course, that station is motived to exaggerate: sensationalism sells ads.
But, as a western NY resident, not too far from the shootings, I was all over the news stations & online news sites. By 4 o'clock, virtually all (all?) of them had the total far far lower than what you reported at 5pm.

So, what's your motivation for exaggerating the deaths/injured well after all the news media had corrected their statistics? Makes for better trolling?
