Interesting story:
Last month at the 12 hours of Sebring, after our 1st qualifier (IMSA, L2), I was at Chicanes, a high end racer bar, and I walked out side for a smoke. There was an older, well dressed, distinguished looking gentleman outside doing the same. In striking up a conversation I asked if he was in Sebring for the races. He said he was. I asked if he was enjoying himself and and whether he was a spectator (which I assumed) or if he was with one of the teams. He said he was with Aston Martin. Wanting to gleam as much info as possible from some of the "big guns". and assuming from his age and dress that he would be high up on the Aston food chain, I asked what he did for them. He said he owned the car!

It seems as though, in order to defray costs, Aston has an "investor" actually own the car, and after it's racing career is over the "investor" takes possession. Slick deal!

We (our crew) shared a number of rounds with Peter (Guinness only for him!), Irish Car Bombs for us. But, alas, either he didn't know or wouldn't share. Later, he was kind enough to separate himself from the podium celebration (third for Aston) and accept congratulations from Clueless Racing.

A classy guy from Germany, who's going to own a rocket ship.
