Iran: Veiled Appeareances could have changed the world, but nobody watched it.

Farenheit 9/11 was horrible, I could not even watch it in it's entirety. The Thin Blue Line is amazing and there is no doubt of its place on the list. LOL at Supersize Me being on there. :D

Some of the earlier ones I have not seen, nor have I watched all of the UP docs; I should probably catch up with those.

I haven't. Tell me about it.

It follows six kids from the age of 7 upwards, visiting them every 7 years.

Seeing how they change over the years of great. It's also good proof that if you're born rich you have a much better chance of making it.

There's another great documentary on fishing in New York.

I forget it's name and it will be hard for me to google right now, but, who would have figured New Yorker's fish?

Great documentary.

I've actually seen most of those.

Up is fascinating but "changed the world"? I don't think so.

The soviet film - sounds like it only matters to film school types.

Harvey Milk? That and the other gay film, may have affected some lives but once again, changed the world? Nope.

Why We Fight (the Capra series) and the Triumph of the Will actually did inspire AMericans and Germans, respectively, to fight and support their governments. So yes on changed the world.

Harlan County USA changed Barbara Koppel's life. That's not the world. I wish it had had more effect on the lives and problems of miners, but it didn't. See recent news.

Thin Blue Line - I think that one did have quite an effect on wrongful conviction. So I'll give it a yes.

The Cove and Inconvenient Truth, and Fahrenheit 9/11 - are you kidding?

Supersize Me - LOL

Another of my favorite documentaries that (should have) changed the world is the one on HBO where the prisinor kills the other prisinor (on camera), and walks away swaggering, "White Power!"

Sickest thing I have ever seen, and no question, it is influential.

Saddening that Supersize me is on there, even though it was highly influential, but only to idiots that couldn't see that eating that much of ANYTHING would fuck up your health.
