12.41 and Coolbits

No I haven't yet. I'm really not that impressed by this version. It could be me but I think that Visionteks 12.0 drivers look better on my VG3. I suppose that sidebanding and fastwrites are a thing of the past too? Anyone?

Coolbits is disabled in various driver sets. You can fix this by copying the nvcpl.dll and nvqtwk.dll files from the nearest version of the drivers that does not disable Coolbits into your Windows\System folder.

12.40 coolbits worked for me, so that'd be the closest version. If I'm not mistaken, the WHQL's usually have coolbits disabled, which 12.41 is basically just the WHQL version of the 12.40's. Just to let you know, the 12.60's are much, much faster (for me at least) and coolbits also works for them.
 
Just copy the leaked 12.40 drivers NVCpl.dll file into \Win\System32\ directory. Enables coolbits
Still gotta have coolbits enabled in the reg for it to work though.

Thank you for this very helpful thread. I did install the 12.60 drivers and Coolbits worked great. BTW, the 12.60 drivers appeared to work as good or better than 12.41!

I'm currently using the 12.90's on my GF3 and the 12.60's on my Ultra.
The 12.90's seem to do a very good job so far.
 
I have now installed the 12.90s for my VisionTek GeForce2 Ultra, and they are working fine. All benchmarks complete. MadOnion2001 score 4647. BTW, I went back to my Apacer 256MB DDR memory stick instead of the Corsair PC2400, and guess what, it OCs to the same level stable? Guess memory is not what is holding me back.
