Hmmm... first time I've ever seen Anand post! Here's a question:

Between what time and what time were the posts that were posted lost? There was an Acura TL thread in the Hot Deals forum, can't seem to find it now. Thought one of the mods got rid of it... but I remember replying to it this afternoon at around 1 or 2pm...

Just wondering, and don't worry about the losts posts, trivial matters when compared to how much everyone benefits from this forum. Of course don't let it happen again Anand!!! Wouldn't want this place to lose credibility over some small technical problems.

By the way, why were you sitting in the middle of the street receiving that package for that article (there was a thread about this a while back)? That was weird as heck!

I really wish I could, but between running AT, classes, family and friends, it's hard to drop by the forums and say hello as much as I'd like to. I do post every now and then in Off Topic (car threads usually pull me out of hiding ) but definitely not as much as I'd like to on the forums as a whole.

Although I may not drop by personally all the time, I definitely do care about what's going on here and I definitely speak for the rest of the team when I say that the Forums are very important to us all as a resource for feedback as well as other information. A lot of the way we structure articles is influenced by posts we find here, simply because the Forums are a representation of the main site, and if you all want x then we give you x.

The backup that was restored was from around 3AM EST, so anything posted after that may have been lost.

Don't remind me about that picture The photographer they (Sony) sent was pretty cool, she was one of the more interesting photographers I've delt with. You'd be on the floor if you saw some of the other pictures we took during the 1/2 day photoshoot. At one point she was going for a "Blair Witch meets Computer Hardware" look and had me in the woods, draped in ethernet, IDE, USB and PS2 cables, with motherboards at my feet, and me swinging mice around my head like a cowboy.

Just in case you are still reading this, I would like to ask you something.

There are many good members, such as me , who are not able to post in your forums because AOL is banned.
Is there something that you can do for us about this issue?

How about a new feature that would only exclude the good member's IP addresses?

I would appreciate if you consider this situation, because according to AnandTech Moderator, AOL is going to continue banned forever

First of all, again a big THANK YOU ANAND. It is not usual to build
such a great forum for a community surrounding a Hardware Site, and
the other big sites prove this with their puny forums.

About the AOL issue. There is a simple solution. CANCEL AOL!
If you made it into these forums on AOL, u should be able to learn enough to reach the next level. So please get a REAL provider.

I don´t mean to be rude, but AOL useres really annoy the Hell out of me.

That was a bit uncalled for, as you have just generalized over 20 million users out there into one group. I really don't see how you can judge someone because of their internet service provider.

And I do wish AOL was unbanned, as it's been like friggin' years since it was banned, and all because of one person?

And since Net0 and Juno have set a limit to use of their services now, I can't use it as freely anymore, and must settle for my parents' AOL account at times.
