11b/g Wi-Fi wireless vs Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG

Getting closer to my ideal notebook spec thanks to all your help 🙂

I'm looking at Thinkpad T42 and I see some come with 11b/g Wi-Fi wireless and others with Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG - which I believe is later and better...? Is it faster or otherwise why is it better? Is it worth spending extra for?

thanks,
Erin

not sure I asked this right, but I don't know how to ask it better 🙁

Anyone know where I could find the answer to this?

depends, i used to use the broadcom b/g cards, they sucked big time.. i rip all those out and switch to the intel 2200g models.. they seem to be more reliable.. but i dont know what your default wifi card choice is..

Hi thanks. I think it is an IBM 11b/g Wi-Fi wireless ... that's what it says. But they seem to upgrade to the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG and I'm trying to figure out the difference.
