How bout doing away with religion bashing ones as well, or banning people that post sexist pictures...where do you want to draw the line?

Censorchip can be practiced by anyone, there is nothing that limits it to the government. Anand can censor his own board all he wants, it's legal since it's private. It's still censorship, though.
 
I find it amusing that someone gets offended by something they have a choice not to look at.

If you don't like it, don't take any notice of it. It is not being shoved in your face (well, if the title is offensive, that's a valid point), but you don't have to click the link and read what's inside the thread, so if you object to the content, then suck it, if the title is a problem, you have a valid point in being offended, though since most people are probably not offended, they might not give a damn.
 
Ok, I can understand not using derogatory terms in a light manner. Thus the sticky about the usage of the word "gay". The way I take it, that doesn't mean anandtech prohibits discussions about homosexuality. If someone wants to make a post about how disgusting he thinks gays are, then he can as long as he keeps it civil. Sure you mind be offended, but so what? I'm offended by lots of things: fat people, ugly people, smelly people, teeny boppers, toe fungus, maggots, piles of decomposing corpses, etc. In fact, my post is starting to become a bit offensive. It happens if you want people to express their opinions.
