HF is a great place to buy if you know tools well. These drills are perfect for wood and light metal work but for serious metal work you'll want the Cobalt or shiny HSS bits. Sign up for the "Inside Track" and it'll be well worth the $.

Many of the power tools I've bought from HF's Central brand outlasted the Craftsman equivelant at about 1/3rd the price.

this thing weighs 8.5 lbs, holy shipping charge

i have a set of cheap cobalt bits already, so i dont need it, but holy good deal...

all you gotta do now is spend $100 on that drilldoctor and these things will last forever, unless they rust...

I've ordered from them for over 10 years. Generally decent stuff, most of it from China though. They have some name brands as well. My orders are usually over $50, so I get the free shipping, no tax.

They also have a Titanium Nitride version of this set for $39.99. Hope this helps.

Harbor sends many catalogs, a few to 5 or 6 a month per address.

I have found over the years that Harbor does not send all of their catalogs to all addresses on a regular basis. They also put an additional cover with specials on most catalogs, and this too is not sent to all addresses. My point is that the catalogs and covers have widely varying offers and frequently have 10s or 20s of items at 50% or more off Harbor's regular price and so you may want catalogs coming to the same address under a few names, they make very good bano reading material. These prices can amount to some near auction prices for some decent tools.

As an example, I recently purchased through Harbor, a DeWalt carbide bladed multi-cutter/metal cut-off saw as a refurb with a full DeWalt original warranty for $190, shipped free. The deal came out of Harbor's Inside Track Club and is well below the new price of ~$450 or Ebay refurb price of ~$250.

I recommend the $15/year for Inside Track also, as a small price to pay for some very interesting tool offers and reading. Harbor is so large now that when they get deals of small volume and often of very high discount, they only offer it in the limited exposure Inside Track.

Here is an example of a good deal. And at regular price online currently. They usually have them in the catolog for $19.99, slashed to 9.99.

I have purchased diamond blades over the years from a variety of sources but none even comes close to Harbor. In China there must be quite a few industrial diamond plants in competition and Harbor being a direct importer offers prices that are plain silly in comparison to traditional supply chain handling and markups.

I have found that though these blades do not last quite as long as some premium blades, the cost per cut ratio is unbeatable. They really to hold up and work even at $3.33/blade.

4'' DIAMOND BLADES (3 PK.)

Their Dry Segmented Blade:
Arbor: 5/8''
Maximum speed: 14,500 RPM

Wet/dry turbo blade:
Arbor: 5/8''
Maximum speed: 14,500 RPM

Wet continuous rim blade:
Arbor: 3/4'' with 5/8'' adapter
Maximum speed: 13,000 RPM

ITEM 46152-1VGA

P.S. They are getting quite a selection of diamond tools. I recently purchased diamond paste for lapping from them, three siringes, fine, medium, and course 50% off at $5.

BlackNinja,

Hear! Hear. I think many in the net kingdom don't relate to a tool if you might get greasy, only if it comes with pumping electrons.

I for one, feel a tool is a tool no matter its color, race, or size;) I love Fat Wallet and AnanbTech for the tech tools and Harbor for the MAN tools.

The B&M store (Tustin Ave) in Orange California is very good about giving you sale prices that have expired. Just bring the old flyer or catalog and generally you can get the lowest price of any recent sale.
Also, sign up at their online site for E-mail catalogs and they generally have a coupon for 5% off $50+ and 10% off $100+ that can be used in the B&M stores.
