Then show him. Kids today think they can get out of stuff through ignorance. Call his bluff and walk him through the process. I like to throw in a little bit of belittlement so they don't try that tactic again.

"First you take one end, wrap it around the other end, see like this..." *slowly starts to tie a knot*
"Then you tuck it under the first one, like your tying your shoes. BTW, I learned this when I was 4."
"Next..."
*unties knot*
"..now you try."

All with a smirk. He's being a d!ck, show him two can play that game.

11 years old hmmm.

You can join Boy Scouts at 11. They'll teach him how to tie a knot.

I was never a Boy Scout, but there is something not quite right about them.

You're right about that!

<--- Eagle Scout.

Brother: I don't know how to 😕

WTF is this world coming to?? Oh, and the sad part is he's not kidding...
you mean you let your brother get to the age of 11 without knowing how to take out the garbage?

There should be a cascading slap in your family,
slap your parents,
slap you,
slap your brother

I was packing my own lunches in kindergarten, and was doing my own laundry by age 10.

The only thing wrong with boyscouts is that most of the people speaking on their behalf aren't one of them... and the occasional biggot filled troop... which is still a small percentage in comparisson to the number of biggots in the world.
