11% Raise @ work

My boss gave me an 11% raise a few minutes ago Didn't ask for it and the ironic thing is that this morning, before work, I was telling my SO that if we had nearly that same amount (as in the raise), that we actually be able to have some meaningful savings.

I agree with xeemzor. Does your SO make anything? With 75K plus the SO you should have a ton of savings. That is unless you bought at the height of the housing market or live in NY.

lol just because you live in one of the top 5 most expensive cities doesn't mean everywhere is like that. Save $50k then come to Austin and you'll get a nice 1 bedroom condo in the suburbs. Save $120k and get a brand new 2000 sq ft house in the burbs or an older 1500 sq ft house in town.
