Talk about thread crapping!!!!!
This reader from OnSale.com only costs $15 and S&H is only $3 for a total of $18. AND there is a $15 rebate.
HTF can you complain about that?

The total for the Dell reader is $43.45 (vs $18) with a measly $10 rebate (vs $15).
The Dell reader will cost you an EXTRA $25.45 before rebates, and an EXTRA $30.45 after reabates ($33.45 vs $3.00).
Realistically, there is NO COMPARISON!!!!
WTF are you thinking?

MarkM was only using the Dazzle 10-in-1 as an example (hence, the "e.g."), not as a suggestion to buy that one instead. I bet most people out there think that an 11-in-1 must handle everything a 10-in-1 can and more. This is not necessarily true, and that's what he was pointing out. But you seem so eager to jump at the chance to bitch and whine about a supposed threadcrap that you didn't realize it was just an informational post.

He was bitching, because a FREE card reader didn't have xD.
And what are you doing? bitching and whining
I took the time to point out what was wrong with his post. It was annoying because what he said was obvious, not something that only he would notice, and I had to spend some time to make my point.
It's not like I was defending my own thread, it isn't my thread.

I'm sending in a PCUSA rebate right now for a FAR 800 dpi mouse bought at ecost.com. BTW, that deal's still going, I think, until Jan. 31st. The rebate coupon looks quite legit and I doubt I'll have difficulty. It's a 14.99 rebate and I got it only to get my over over $25 to get free shipping for the item I really wanted: 10 minidv tapes for $28 after shipping. Search this forum for minidv if interested.

But dig, that mouse is very nice. Lighter than my Logitech MX510, and if you're happy with a L/R and scroll wheel (nice wheel!!), it's a winner.

At the moment I only have SD cards and already have an SD card reader, so I suppose I'll pass on this. I assume you have to pay shipping for this, right?

Can someone address this question: Why do they offer FAR deals? What is the motivation, intercompany politics, etc. etc.?

You took the time to shoot off your mouth because you enjoying doing so.

How is it obvious to the average joe that an 11-in-1 reader doesn't necessarily support all the formats of a 10-in-1 reader and more? Marketers know very well that the higher the # that they use in x-in-1, the more appealing it will be to consumers. Thus, they treat variations of the same format as equivalent to different formats in boosting up that #. Not everybody knows this. And an example of a 10-in-1 card was included to demonstrate this - most people like to see an example rather than a claim with nothing to back it up.

Nowhere in his post did he say not to buy this reader. Nowhere in the post did he say to purchase the 10-in-1 reader instead. It merely served as a heads up that a reader marketed as "11-in-1" doesn't necessarily support all the formats a 10-in-1 or less reader does. Get over yourself.

Why don't you quit psychoanalyzing people. This forum is not for discussing your opinions of other people's posts. Anyway, your full of it.

Here's a quote from the link graciously provided by the OP
"Storage card supports: CompactFlash, IBM Micro drive, SmartMedia, SD and Mini SD /MMC and MMC, Memory stick, Memory stick Prostorage card series"
Do you see XD anywhere in that list?
It's kind of obvious isn't it? Well I guess it's not to a brain damaged idiot. That's why I'm walking you thru it real slowly so you don't get lost.

Do a little research and share the results, like I just did, instead of speculating and writing all kinds of stupid crap to waste the time of innocent bargain hunters. This is a Hot Deals forum, not a place for you to bitch and cry and psychoanalyze people.

Get over yourself. Try writing something helpful, productive and positive like I do, instead of badgering people you don't like.

You're a disgrace, get off my case.

Thank you jrichards, emeraldsky, etc. You are correct, I was merely trying ot illustrate teh description of this (by the manufacturer, not the OP) was misleading, since I was myself at first. Thank you for recongnizing my good intention, and I hope the clarification did someone good.

You can't even follow your own advice. If you didn't hop onto MarkM's post expressing your opinion in an insulting tone that his post was a threadcrap (which it clearly wasn't), we wouldn't be having this discussion.

You have reading comprehension issues. Did he say "this reader doesn't support xD, thus don't buy it"? And I didn't mention xD even once in my previous posts. It wasn't about the price, and it wasn't about xD support in particular either. It was just to point out that an 11-in-1 reader doesn't necessarily support all the formats that a 10-in-1 (or less) reader does. What's wrong with a little clarification? You copy-and-paste off of the linked webpage and call it research and a productive post. While someone who actually did some research as well as providing an example to show what he meant gets chewed out by you about how it's a threadcrap. With your attitude, people can't bring anything up thinking it might help others without you insinuating that it must already be obvious to all, and thus must be a threadcrap.

Try writing something helpful, productive and positive like I do
Haha, you're such a joke. Look at your posts. You went off on someone's informative post with a threadcrapping claim, an irrelevant price comparison, and derogatory remarks. Your post after that was just a silly comparison of the opinion of your post vs another user's post - someone who had called you out on your impolite reply. And the rest was just defending your threadcrapping claim. Real positive posts there. :p

Like MarkM said above:
