Can't they just fly in from the ocean below a certain altitude (4,000 feet?) and be below any of our civilian radar? The majority of our largest cities are on the coasts.

Fuel consumption for that altitude will reduce the range considerably.

The aircraft still will have to land to refuel and then take off from outside CONUS.

Best option is to shadow an existing civilian airliner with the transponder turned off.,
 
Speaking as a libertarian some of you conservatives are fucking nuts. Holy shit you guys fall for anything goddamn. I don't post anywhere near as often since I am somewhat deployed but this shit started hitting my Facebook feed earlier in the week. I couldn't help but think how stupid some of my family members were and having to actually try and explain why they were being incredibly ignorant of even the largest of facts.

Sure as shit I come here just to see and some of you people are actually taking this seriously.

Oh, you mean they didn't find a way to steal 11 airliners, and land them, and fuel them, and prep them for attack and blah? Seriously? No blah?

Might want to actually read your link. SOME of the planes have been accounted for, but not all.

I do agree that these are not much danger to us. Probably a lot easier to hijack planes legitimately in our system than to handle the logistics of fueling an airliner and shadowing another plane all the way to North America - assuming any of the missing planes even have the capability.

You might want to read the link as it's most likely that the unaccounted for planes were destroyed in the attack. You can view the damage on Google earth. It's is also highly unlikely that a jet airliner would take off from one of those airports u noticed by neighboring countries.

It's fear porn from agenda driven fear mongers.

And given the fact that most of the supposedly stolen airliners have been accounted for by airliners.net and given the fact this information came from an anonymous intelligence official, I'd say that you'd have to be pretty gullible to believe it at this point. But then again you'd have to be pre gullible to believe anything from the right wing media.

I guess they just couldn't figure out what to do with those jets in time for another 9/11.

Pro tip: whenever an article cites an anonymous source, just replace that term with "some guy" and that should give you an idea as to how seriously the story should be taken.

They've all crawled out from under their beds & have forgotten the whole thing by now, just like they have every year since 2001. But they're primed & ready to do it again next year, and the years after that. It's like going to a haunted house every year at Halloween. Some people need to feel frightened to feel alive, apparently.

I have no idea why it would have. We aren't nearly as important as we make ourselves out to be and if someone wanted to make an impression it wouldn't be on the same day as someone elses attack.

I'm sure the defense of this nonsense will be "Well they could still use the jets any day in the future" and that will reason enough for them to believe that bullshit for the next several years at which point they will have conveniently forgotten about it so as to never need re examine the credibility of their news sources.
