What's the connection with Dark Tower? Unless this one is different, they all have some sort of semi-direct connection to the main Dark Tower story.

How is that a hobby?

History buff I guess. some people are really into details about specific things.

Hell, tons of people around here love the shit out of some airplanes, battleships, guns and weapons, Donald Trump, etc.

They didn't release it all at once so I'm waiting. I have no desire to wait a week between episodes.

Are we doing spoilers or is this spoiler free?

What I dont get is why he didnt reset the timeline after the fire. He would have a new journal and a chance to save the kid from the fire. I would treat it like groundhog day (minus anything that would get me killed) and work out everything relevant over time and then do everything on one trip.

This is assuming I understood it right that every time he goes in the closet it resets the timeline. Although I suppose a) there is no backup, but he could leave a note for future self or his buddy to make copies in case something happens to his research. Or b) there is a chance that he already changed something significant and no longer has all the info he started out with.

It seems like at a minimum he should be able to go back for a just a second to reset anything he's done in previous runs. As long as he doesnt do something that causes the diner to not exist.

I was thinking the same thing.

His diner buddy doesn't seem to have been the best judge of character, either. He can't bullshit himself out of a simple situation to save his life...kinda hard to go back 55 years and just blend without it. We'll see. I'm frustrated.

The timeline he left advances 2 minutes into the future every time he goes in the closet. The journal would just be lost in the time stream if he reset it

That makes absolute sense. Duh.

I was thinking when he first arrived the first thing I'd do is make copies of that betting book. Hide it, safety deposit, whatever. Then the house burns down.

Yeah, but it seems like there are ways around that to make sure there are copies. Do a Back to the Future thing where you pay UPS to deliver a note on a specific date, or tell the young version of his buddy to always make backups. I would even go back just to see if I already figured it out in a previous run. And worse case he'd probably still have access to all the research in the guys house, just not reduced down in a journal. I would at least go back and get a sports almanac to make sure I had money. Well, at the very least I'd go back and try to save the kid, or figure out if I needed to save the kid.

EDIT: Oh, and why the heck did he throw away his phone! iPhones arent cheap, and eventually he's gonna be back in the present.

In real life he probably would have, hell he could print of crap off the internet for Oswalds whereabouts on specific dates if he needed.

Its a fun show, episode 3 was disappointing though.

It wasn't UPS in back to the future it was western union

It appears you're asking for a link to bypass what appears to be paid for content - i.e., you're asking for access to piracy. That is not allowed here.

Episode 3. Looks like Jake Epping is getting help (young guy) surveying Oswald, can't remember if that happened in the book which I read 2X. :\
