Go to the store.. click on the little red special deals link on the lower left.. deals are as follows:

Ipod 10 gig No Dock - 229
Ipod 15 gig W/ dock - 279
Ipod 30 gig w/ dock - 379

ipod 10 gig prior version (Windows) - 169 (touch pad, remote and carrying case)
ipod 20 gig mac or windows prior version - 269 (touch pad, remote and carrying case)

plus a bunch of accessories.. the 10 gig sure looks tempting

go to the apple store and then go to special deals. Am i correct in saying that the "dock" is the only means of connecting the Ipod to a PC?

I see them there for $169. Prev gen w/touchpad. Includes everything with it and a 1 year warranty.

What is the condition on these refurbs? Are they like new?

The one I got for $199 looked new--original packaging and box.

$169 is a really great price....I was thinking buying a 1G CF card for my PDA and turn it to a mp3 player, but at $169, I maybe better off getting an ipod instead.

Through reading the forums at ipodlounge I have gathered the following on how to convert the ipod as I will be doing it myself once mine arrives.

To convert iPod from Mac to PC:
1. Download the latest iPod Software Updater for Windows from Apple (Currently 1.3).
2. Install the software. A reboot will be required.
3. Plug in your iPod
4. Launch the updater.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions

Recommend MP3 Manager: ephpod

10 & 15 with doc connector for 229/279 and 10gb MAC (older version) for $169 are BACK IN STOCK!

Operator told me that the $169 models sold out within 2 days last week. The $279 with doc connector seems like the 'sweet spot' if you have an extra hundred - newest model w/ the extras... cradle/remote/case...

Free shipping / + tax / $8 for 2nd day...
