Laff. The media deal makes this awfully sweet. I can't believe DVD media is already under 50 cents a disk! I remember when the lowest price you could get on CD-R media was $1.12, and you had to buy 500 - 1000 pieces to get that price (not to mention when it was more like $5 a piece, but that's a long time ago).

Only thing I'm worried about is the compatibility with the dual layered media and how well they will play on the dvd players that they do work with.

i dunno... i kinda like it in california. i ordered this burner... at 1pm and it was at my doorstep at 11am the next day. newegg is usually amazingly fast but under 24 hours is craziness!!

There's very little out already. It was supposed to be $5-$8 a piece but I've read more recently that it may be $8-$10. Compatibility on standalone players is unknown for now.

Bump for a good deal. Newegg raised the price a few bucks, it's now 87 for the DVD, $100 or so for a dual layer 8x DVD and 50 DVD-Rs?

Getting hard to resist getting my feet wet and jumping into DVD burning.

This does kind of bother me, I mean, there are dual layer drivers but no media? Even when both products come out at the same time, there are issues that need working out, lets all hope they can be fixed with ROM flashes
