Question 1070 SLI - 750W 80+ enough ?

Couple years ago and thanks to your help I made a new built: https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...ual-channel-1800x-x370.2517818/#post-39081480

Now for a while I've been playing and ejoying RDR2 with my Samsung Ultrawide (49") @ 5120x1440 @ 120Hz and my Gigabyte 1070 G1 but the GPU can't deal properly with high game settings. I would really love enjoying this game with higher settings and thought about an extra 1070 in SLI (which in some tests looks equally performing as a 2080ti and costs much less).
Problem is that I'm not sure if my PSU together with my set up can hold it.

For what I've tested on PSU calculators (https://www.newegg.com/tools/power-supply-calculator/ ) 590-600W would/should be enough. Is it safe with my Corsair RM750i?

I don't know about SLI, I think you're creating a lot more work and issues than what the extra frames in a few games that support it may give, but for what it's worth, that PSU will have absolutely no difficulties dealing with the hardware

Thanks for your fast reply. So IYO it's not worth the money/effort? I could get an extra 1070 for just 150-200€ and thought it could be worth the try to enjoy this amazing game with this monitor at it's maximum!

Very few games properly support SLI anymore. I can't honestly advise anybody go this route to get extra frames. For the money you would spend on another GPU, a new PSU, and the price you could get for your current card, you could just buy a much faster GPU.

But for your question, a 750W PSU with enough PCI-E power connectors for two GPUs should work fine for you.

I second what Stuka87 stated on SLI support; it is absolutely not worth it anymore. I've had GTX 690, 780Ti SLI, 980Ti SLI, and 1080Ti SLI; support for games that actually tangibly benefit from SLI has gone from from a some to sparse. At this point you are just throwing money away getting SLI; get a used 1080Ti or a new 2080 and you should see a good jump in performance. My 2080Ti can't even max RDR2 @3440x1440, maybe look at turning a few settings down as well...

It doesn't look indeed not that good to go for a SLI. I could borrow one from a friend before buying one, and indeed I get a few more frames, but nothing spectacular.

It might be even worth waiting to around september until the new 3000 generation comes, and then I guess 2080Ti price will drop down a bit, cause now it's way out of my budget
