What I'm thinking of is that article about the enormous boom in the spread of AIDS among homosexuals. Specifically, the line by the one guy who said that the minute he contracts AIDS will be the most erotic moment of his life. :Q

there was a thread a little while back that was about whether you would stay friends with somebody if they told you they were gay. i personally would and it's good to see that you aren't as shallow or close minded as some people on this forum.

more power to him.

LordJezo's gay?

Anyway, it's cool that you're fine with him being gay. You have to admit, though, whether or not it should, it will change things a bit. I'm not saying you wont be as close friends. But, knowing what you know now will make things just a little different. It's kinda like if you date someone for awhile (not that I'm suggesting he has a thing for you, I'm just making an analogy). You date someone, you break up, but you're still good friends. Well yeah, you're good friends, but things are different than they were before you started dating.

I really don't understand how it should change anything unless he has started hitting on you.

edit:
having a 40 year old bf is a tad odd, but whatever floats his boat.

Older...
My friend is 24 this year, so that makes his b/f 40! That's the kicker right there

Wow, that's weird for ANY relationship, hetero or homo.

I now worry about how some of our other friends who are not as close as we are will react...

Should not matter his prefrence in regards to you. If he has been your friend that long it wouldnt matter. I know it wouldnt to me if some of my friends told me they perfer one to the other.

Well, it doesn't necessarily change anything, but it would be rather surprising to know that a friend you've known for years is gay.

Radiohead: Congrats for being mature about it. Hope your friend is happy, regardless of how old his boyfriend is.

It doesn't matter to me that he is gay as I've stated in my original thread,

But it was still very much a surprise when he told me, coupled along with the age gap btwn him and his b/f...

You do know realize that unless your friend changes his ways and asks God for forgiveness, he is going to hell, don't you?

It's happened to me before many times, if you want to talk about it or something shoot me a PM. Just stay the person you are to him, that's the best thing you can do. Don't change who you are.

Now I'm not posting to flame about him or anything negative. He is still a close friend to me no matter what; as it's who he is, not what he is that makes him such a dear friend.

But I am, to say the least, a little taken back. Now it's not the whole coming out part that is blowing my mind. Me and another dear friend has always acknowledge the possibility he was gay. Just one of those things you can pick up after knowing and hanging out with someone for over 10 years.

But what is blowing my mind is the age difference between him and his b/f.
His b/f is 15 years older, in his 40's!... that is quite a bit to wrap my head around.

...wow...

Edit:
I just needed an outlet that is inconspicuous so I could get this off my chest.
I'm the only one who knows so far and I will not go and tell the others as it is his decision who to tell & when to tell.

My best friend in Texas did the same thing, after we graduated from HS, he came out of the closet. I told him it was cool, he is still my best friend. Heck, something stupid like that won't ruin my friendship :)
