UC Berkeley is the original University of California college. Waay before California started expanding it's colleges to other cities. Hence, the short nick name, Cal.

I think it's because Berkeley was the first UC, so it was deserving of the name "Cal".

When I read your topic, I thought someone was having a similar situation as myself...I've know this girl for a while now, but never really spoke to her...I had a party on Sunday (yeah, Sunday 🙂), and kinda talked to her then...since Sunday, she's spent the last two evenings at my place (doing nothing, mind you), and we've talked extensively, for over 10 hours in the last 2 days. It's really fun, regardless of whether or not I'm attracted to her. (which I am, but not like "all in"...so that sucks).
