1024 X 768 does not fill my screen in games...desktop is fine..... help??????

I dont know how this happened....I suspect my kid doing something

800 x 600 is fine
1024 x 768 would leave about a 1" blank stripe on each side of the monitor. resizing the desktop fill the screen up just fine, and all looks great. however, when I try to play games, the stripe is still there. resizing the game to 800 x 600 fill it up, but when I change it back to 1024 x 768 it returns. my refresh rate is 85 hz...where it has always been


any ideas???

It will be the refresh rate of your monitor. Make sure your refresh rate is set to your prefered rate within the Display Properties for each resolution.

Sometimes 3D games can be out of sync with 2D apps even at the same resolution and refresh rate. Just adjust your monitor and it'll be fine thereafter because it'll remember your settings.
