I am very interested in what cooling mods you can do to make it quiet. The beast runs at 50 db or something.

Also would be nice to see what happens to the performace when AA and AF are enabled.

Also updates on performance when new drivers are released would be cool.

those are excellent ideas and will be included ~ TY 🙂

i have quite a few cooling mods in mind to make it quieter.
im also not happy about it using unfiltered outside case air (my case is sealed and filtered) ~ so both concerns will be addressed. (i have no qualms about hacking up this cooler if need be)
 
I have ONE request for you when you get this card. Tell me how loud it actually is.

what a nice coincidence....

new official nVidia drivers have been released today ~ v43.45.

gonna test these in a few mins, if they check out ill probably be using these in the review.
(im currently using 30.82s, and those will not make for a good comparison)

yes, the supposed loud cooler is gonna be a big issue. (pun)
the cooler does use standard GF4 cooler mounting pattern so there are possible alternatives.
of course the 1st possible mod would be running the fan in 7v mode from a molex, etc.

but hey, someones gotta put one of these cards thru the ringer right?
may as well be me 😀

I have actually thought of getting one myself after they have been out a little while. So, I am just teasing ya! I am glad it will be in here... otherwide we would get more guys like the above trying to tell Elite members what to do and where to go... literally. Keep it in here. We can put a post in the vid forum to come and see it if they want.

got the 9700 pro to tie me over until the "leafblower" ( sorry... had to ) comes of age!

This forum reads CPU/Processors AND overclocking...This falls under overclocking!!!! Which is all Thugs knows how to do!!!😉 He has overclocked fans, cpus, vid cards...I bet he found a play to oc his printer!!!
