I found these at Micro Center. These are silver/blue Kingston Hypermedia disks on one very big spindle. This their regular price.

Seemed like a deal to me so I bought two spindles. Until I get another jumbo HD I need all the cdr's I can get to keep my head above water! :D

I've already burned about a half dozen disks with no problem.

For those with short memories, these were the same cheap CD brand that were offered @ outpost.com... ahh.. remember free overnight shipping... i was on a first name basis with the airborne express delivery people.. in fact I still have a stack of "missed you while i tried to deliver your cd's" door stickers...

cds.. these are not all that bad.. althought they are only rated at 8x, I've burnt many on my Teac 12x w/o problems..

thanks for the deal!

cheers,
--jb

edit: miscellanous ramblings about free shipping...

I wish outpost still had that free delivery thing. I too was getting to know my Airborne delivery person! :)

i still have some of those cds from outpost...they actually haven't been that great for me. Actually, they kinda suck as audio cds...but work fine as data cds.

I've had problems with these playing in some cd players. And so have a few friends of mine who have also used this brand...just a heads up ;)

Aren't these worst than the outpost ones? The outpost ones are 12x, these are only 8x. I would buy if they were 12x.

mdplayer -- i would say no.. I don't think ratings mean a whole lot with respect to 8x-12x... Like I've said in my earlier posts, I've burned quite a few of these 8x's at 12x w/o problems..

cheers,

These CDs are average, they are good for data, but not that great for music. I burnt these at 12x with my Plextor and the CDs didn't work very well on my roomate's mp3/CD player. I also tried making CD-copy at 8x (I have a SCSI plextor CD-rom), and the copy skips when playing.

I have the kingston hypermedia cd's from outpost and they don't burn audio very well at all. In fact, the percentage that actually burn audio is only about 50% for me.

My friend just got a Marantz (model DR4050) audio cd record and wanted to know what kind of blank discs he needs?
he seems to think that he needs different cdrs, izzat rite?

joburnet, your 50% success rate is on a PC burner, right?
