Upsides: Better performance than anything in class or price range, looks good, will spank the 911Turbo and GTR, probably fairly easy to tune since it's not as computer dominated as the GTR
Downsides: I'm not sure

2nd Choice
Viper
Upsides: NA 600+hp, has shown surprising track performance and capability, best braking of any car I've ever seen, looks like it's able to eat your first born.
Downsides: Probably harder to tune and upgrade with the whole cam in block variale timing system

3rd Choice
GTR
Upsides: Quick, capable
Downsides: Ugly as sin, fattest, heaviest of the bunch, very hard to tune

The GT2 should not be a choice, the price is way over $100K

Vipers are easy to get 1000+ HP out of.

GTR vs ZR1 has not been run yet AFAIK...until they meet on the track it's anyone's guess. Most are saying the GTR will give the Z06 a good run for the money though.

I think so too, I think that the ZR1 would do great with big flat slicks, but with street tires it'd probably have major traction problems putting the power to the ground. The Z06 is already traction-limited, and sees massive performance increases with better tires.

I wouldn't call 2 tenths of a second "massive"...

I am referring to the quickest 1/4 mile time slicks vs stock runflats.

I know what you're saying, but the quickest 1/4 mile w/stock tires is hardly an easily repeatable feat for most drivers/conditions. None of the car reviewers/mags have been able to approach that time. However, with slicks at the track, people all over the place can put down ridiculously good times. It's a well-accepted fact that Z06 + stock tires = a bitch to launch hard without excess tire spin.
