What's yours?

I'd have to choose the GT-R, just because it's so different than anything else in the price segment. Seems pretty competent in each area as well.

Upsides : Insane performance, likely to mod pretty well.

Downsides : No clutch = not as fun, probably a bitch to work on, heavy, probably chews tires to pieces, looks somewhat bizarre.

Summary : Budget Veyron FTW.

I'd be deliriously happy with a Z06/ZR1, or GTS Viper, or 911 Turbo/GT2/GT3 as well.

I work down the street from RUF USA btw, always a sight to drive by on the way to work :)

Corvette ZR1
Upsides: Better performance than anything in class or price range, looks good, will spank the 911Turbo and GTR, probably fairly easy to tune since it's not as computer dominated as the GTR
Downsides: I'm not sure

2nd Choice
Viper
Upsides: NA 600+hp, has shown surprising track performance and capability, best braking of any car I've ever seen, looks like it's able to eat your first born.
Downsides: Probably harder to tune and upgrade with the whole cam in block variale timing system

3rd Choice
GTR
Upsides: Quick, capable
Downsides: Ugly as sin, fattest, heaviest of the bunch, very hard to tune

The GT2 should not be a choice, the price is way over $100K

For me, it depends on if it's an only vehicle. However, these are pretty close to what I'd choose as well.

I'd go with a Lotus Exige S hands down. Top speed is practically meaningless on public roads, handling and braking is where it's at.

ZR1 is so disgustingly overpowered I'd have to choose that first. Gotta love the whole design concept ... "I wonder what a 100k vette would look like" ... lol

GT-R second, sweet ride

I'd go for a slightly used Aston Martin Vantage V8. I really love the elegance and styling of that automobile, and I've already got a stupidly fast car so I wouldn't need the DB9 or it's V12. I would be very thrilled with the baby Aston.

That thing seems completely unsuited to driving on the road, however (not to mention the fact that at 6'4", I won't be driving an Exige unless I'm involved in an Alex Zanardi-style accident first).

For me, at the $100K price point, I'd be looking at an Audi R8 or a slightly used GT3.

It's actually fine and quite a nice tourer. I've driven the Elise and other than getting in and out of it the car is brilliant. I'm 5'11" and I had loads of headroom. A friend of mine rode in it and he is 6'4" and he had enough headroom as well. Again, it's just hard to get in and out of. It is so low and the door sill is so wide coupled with a very small opening to clamor through and yeah, it's virtually impossible to get into or out of gracefully.

It has tons of leg room though and the driving position is damned near perfect.

for a $100k every day car, carrera 4 turbo. used, if the budget demands it.

I wonder where you'd dump the other $20K? Laser beams maybe.

I think the Audi R8 is the most interesting car of the bunch.

The Corvette is awesome, but it doesn't really have unique styling. The GT-R is kinda homely, it looks like it should be a lot cheaper than it is. The Viper is too common. The Lotus is too small.

When it comes to that much performance on the street, it gets to a point where it doesn't matter. I say, go with the most interesting car to you.

I think the R8 is homely. The Corvette looks ten times better...too bad the interior is crap.

If it had to be my only car: GT-R. There is just nothing that comes close to it considering the overall package. If it didn't have to by my only car: Lotus Exige 240R. I don't think I need to explain.

The Corvette does look good, but you see them all the time. It's not very interesting as a $100k car just because of that. When I put down that much money, I shouldn't see other cars that look just like it everywhere I look.

I disagree about the R8 being homely. That side panel needs to be the same as the regular body color in my opinion, but that's optional. The interior is excellent on the Audi also. It doesn't look as good as something like a Ferrari F430, but that would be a lot more money.

Always been fond of the Ferrari 360 Spider, and I'd go with the manual with the classic 6 speed shift gate.

Or get a stock R34 GTR V-Spec imported and registered, either in blue or silver.
