100GB WD Hard Drive @ SAMS $119.98 after $100 MIR

I can't decide between the seagate and the 120gb here. I think I'll go with the seagate since that other rebate looks stricter and you pay 300 initially..

Edit: It figures that as soon as I get the money together to order the seagate it is backordered..
 
For anyone else who ordered online, I wanted to mention that you'll have to wait a while for it to arrive. Although the shipping options that come up during the ordering process list how long it'll take to arrive, Sam's Club has an entry in their help area that says it'll take a few weeks (this hadn't occurred to me until I saw the table with delivery dates, so I thought some fellow deal hunters might be the same)! link I just ordered yesterday, and mine will arrive between xmas and new year's. argh.

Well, i ordered mine on the 8th and it's already been shipped with an ETA of 12/14, so I think that shipping table in the FAQ is just there as a reference for the maximum time it may take to receive your order, not the expected time.
 
I ordered mine yesterday, the 10th, and I still haven't received a shipment notification. This has me worried, cuz I have someone that's buying my current HD's, and the kid's going home after finals on Monday. :|

I really hope it gets here Monday, otherwise I'm in some big doo-doo.
 
can somebody provide me the link on sam's clubs page? keen's link says session timed out.....I need this badly.... I can't believe i missed this deal! i don't know how the Hell i missed this one!!!:Q :frown: I just woke up yesterday when i read it the first time!!

The 100 GB drive seems to be gone from the Sams Club site, even though it still shows up under the COMPUTERS/ACCESSORIES/SUPPLIES section of the REBATES tab.

Digme, searching for 743001 used to take you to that drive, b4 it disappeared from the site.
743001 is the Sams Club SKU for the drive.
 
I've got a 90 day guest pass that expires on 1/6/02. Does anybody know if I can actually buy something with this thing? Will they give me a hard time concerning the rebate if I'm not a Sam's Club member?

I just finished one of their customer support chats, and they said my order would ship out tomorrow. So, unless UPS, Fedex, USPS, or whoever ships it messes up bigtime, I'll get it next week (hopefully before I move out of the dorm for winter break 😱 ).

Digme - Try doing the "click 'n pull" at the top of the page. It'll save you a ton of driving time. You can research their stock - supposedly in real time, at individual store locations.
 
Could so of you that have picked this drive up from Sams post the exact model # that is on the HD?? I read elsewhere that some of the drives being sold at Sams are actually the SE version. I can't remember off-hand where I read this but apparently upon calling WD tech support and running the model number it was confirmed that the drive this person bought was the SE 8mb cache version, and the rep was aware that some of the drives in the regular boxs are SEs. Once I find the site again I will post the model # so everyone can check for sure.

just wandering through sam's last night, looking for a christmas tree stand, and, lo and behold, in the meager components aisle

wd1000bb for 219-100mir.

hmmm, sounds like a good deal-even though i don't really need a new one right now. too hard to pass up. i figure they're sold out, but to my suprise, they're in stock.

oh, well, with that $24 stick of ddr ram i picked up at BB now i guess i have to build another computer.


btw, they still had these in stock at the roseville, CA Sam's as of last night.
 
The one I got is a WD1000BBRTL. It says just to the right of that on the box, "Buffer Size 2MB," so I'm pretty sure it's not an SE. Anyway, a friend of mine told me he saw these still in stock in Terre Haute, IN last night, so if you're in the area, go get one.
 
It doesn't matter what the box says, it is what is on the drive itself. If you have that model # or a simliar model # with the 75, call and see for yourself.

Just got mine. Thanks DEFIANT1, that tip about the locator helped me find where to buy, none local, had to drive about 115 miles round trip, got the last one. I haevn'y opened the box yet to check the model #, hope it is a SE model, want it for video capture.

My poppa just picked one up for the computer I'm building for him! It was at the Harding Pl store in Nashville, TN. He said there were still 4 more! Go there!

I just want to confirm - all I have to do is to send it the REBATE RECEIPT and the REBATE FORM and I'm set? No need for UPC? That's kind of strange, but I'd rather check than lose out on $100. Thanks.
