I had an ad in the paper yesterday morning I think. I don't remember the specifics, but the Western Digital 100GB 7200RPM drive was $120 before either an instant or mail-in $20 rebate. The drive doesn't show up online so it is probably in-store only.

The flyer says it's a WD1000BBRT. 100GB, 7200RPM. $119.99 with a $20 MIR =$99.99 Good until Saturday, Aug. 17. I did not see this listed at their website. I'm still hoping for a Maxtor at Staples so I can combine it with a coupon and get a 100GB for about $80.

Not a bad price for $1.085/GB after rebate. Regular price is $159.99, so there is a $30 Instant rebate, then $20 MIR. This was the same offer CompUSA had last July 4th sale.

ElFenix "can you refresh my memory as to whether this is a good thing or a bad thing?"

Actually it is a good thing. You can check the status for your rebate here..
Just enter your name and zip code. It shows what promo, product, date, rebate in $, and if rebate submission is accepted or not and why. Always got my rebates from this company. :)

This deal is B&M only till tomorrow, Aug 17th. No rebate form found in Best Buy website. It should print out in the register after purchase.

Warm deal. Didn't anyone cash in on the WD800JB and WD1200JB drives at CU and CC the past few weeks?

Found that HD in my Thursday morning BB circular, but they were all out when I went to the store. Oh well, I'm sure we'll be able to pick up a 100 gig hd for less than $1.00/gig soon enough. Patience is a virtue.

There is nothing in my Best Buy circular dated August 11 for a Western Digital 100GB 7200 RPM drive. The only hd being shown for sale is a 60GB Maxtor for $100.00. Too bad, I really wanted to pick up that WD drive too. Maybe they have different circulars for different parts of the country? I'm in Connecticut by the way.

Is not in the sunday circular, go to the store and they will have it there! Look Here, they run specials from thursday to saturday!

The circular came out mid-week(Thursday), but I just received the new ads, Best Buy will have this HD all week, Aug 18-24, for $100 after $20 MIR. Memorex 50 pack CDRs for $15-$10 MIR. Also they have the the Philips 100 pack CDRs for $19-$10 MIR=FREE! Are these Philips any good? I have read they had a lawsuit about not sending your check to you in a timely manner.

If you're talking about the
WD1200JB deal at CU, that deal involves a whopping $100 MIR with, guess who, TCA (New Rochelle, NY), one of the absolute worst rebate processors in history. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to put $100 of my hard earned money at their mercy.

Back in today's flyer (Aug 18-24) for $119.99 - $20MIR = $99 + taxes. I have one of these drives and it's great. However I'm still trying to figure out why it goes clunk-click once or twice a day though.

I have a couple that seem to do this also. So far, I've had no issues with the drives. I think it's just thermal recalibration.
