If you just need a small hard drive, Officedepot.com has Maxtor 100GB PATA for $14.99 after $60 MIR. SKU 941504. Free shipping.

$60 MIR form here.

Today's ad shows this for $19.99 AR (page 5), but online it is $74.99 and there is a $60 MIR. Don't know if you can get it for $74.99 in-store. Good luck!

May be OOS for online delivery in your area. Try taking a copy of the web page to the store to get the $74.99 price. Also from OD's Low Price Guarantee, they are supposed to take competitor's coupons. So, if you've got Staples, Best Buy, etc. coupons, you might be able to get it free.
"Does Office Depot accept coupons from Competitors?
Yes. Coupons are accepted in-store only. Acceptance of coupons from the Competitors is subject to the terms and conditions listed on the coupon.
Office Depot does not accept Competitor coupons for free/promotional or non-identical products."

The rebate form won't open for me. Anyone else having similar problems with Acrobat not accepting it?

Will try to find elsewhere though

thanks OP

Just saw this in my local OD B&M. The 100GB drives they have in stock include a free 20GB...so you're getting basically a 120GB HD for the price of 100GB. Nice for those who need this. 🙂

WARNING:

I just got a $150 Lenovo reabate yesterday from an OD Xmas purchase. Plan on 5 months. Mine didn't even show up online for 3 months, and that was when I started calling and emailing. Lenovo $100 rebate sent at the same time came on time as expected.

I will likely NEVER get my Vi$ta upgrade. I paid for shipping. It was approved and pending for months, then after the last day of the offer it immediately changed to "CANCELED". I had 2 choices when I applied, Business for free or Home Premium for extra money (maybe Ultra for more), so I chose Business. They NOW claim I picked an invalid choice and could only get Basic, doh!! I called Lenovo and they said "let me check on it" then hung up, nice support. If I could only get Basic, why didn't they send it? Jerks.

This is my last OD rebate and purchase.

I got rejected for not submitting my receipt on another $60 off 100GB Maxtor they had. I won't get burned again.

Hot Deals threads that include the words Office Depot and After Rebate should have an automatic pop-up warning about the low chance of actually getting a hassle free rebate!

Well said! They are the new Tiger Direct.

Just tried to order one and, of course, couldn't. How can an online order possibly give an "THIS ITEM IS NOT AVAILABLE AT YOUR LOCATION" error? I'm pretty sure I've had UPS, Fedex and USPS trucks stop by from time to time. So I know they can find my house.

Yeah, that's stupid; they should either be available to nobody or everybody. They must be shipping these from regional distribution centers.

I've heard the horror stories about TD and I hesitated before ordering from them this past December. However I did, and they deposited my 2 rebates in my paypal account 12 days from the day I mailed in the rebates. Wonder if they've changed for the better or whether my experience was a fluke?

lol, my first computer in the late 90's came with a 7GB drive, the one I built 4 or 5 years ago (and am still using) has an 80GB drive. how times change!

I had the exact same experience with the Vi$ta upgrade. COA was confirmed and everything, then suddenly it was cancelled and they said I could only get basic. Mine was from purchasing an Acer laptop at Microcenter. I think the Moduslink Vi$ta upgrade is a joke. I should probably be more upset, but I wouldn't install Vi$ta right now anyway, beta cr@p.

This deal just got hotter. If you find the $15 off $75 Staples coupon, OD will accept it for this drive. You'll have to spend a penny to bring the total over $75. I squandered a dime to copy the receipt, rebate form and UPC. 😎

I've never had a problem getting an OD rebate. Hope that doesn't change, this time.

OD took my staples coupon without me spending anymore for some reason, i think they were just confused. otherwise i was gonna buy a .79 cent pack of gum and call it good.

p.s. I believe the pc club enclosure deal is dead (at least for now) they're out of stock. Any other enclosure deals ppl have?

I have been looking for quite some time for a cheap hard drive of this size. 40 was my budget, so getting one for 20 was amazing (15 + 5 tax). I did end up having to call about 30 stores though, even trying stores an hour and a half away. It was really strange, not only were stores oos, but they weren't able to get any information relating to stock in other stores for this item. On my last call, though, the store didn't have any in stock, but... the salesperson told me that Paramus was showing 7 units.

This was yesterday morning, but for anyone in Northern NJ, Western PA or Southern NY, Paramus seems to be the only store with hard drives in stock. I should add that I didn't try NYC, though. The toll for the tunnel would have bump the price up considerably and parking would have been a nightmare.

If you can find an empty ink cartridge and bring it to OD, it will give you $3 off on top of everything. Then you will have a 120GB (100GB plus 20GB) hard drive for $12 AR (plus sales taxes).

Wish we have Staples around so I can use that coupon.

My OD store has about 5 of these hard drives on sale (as of 5-2-07).

I always have good experience with OD rebates. OfficeMax on the other hand, is the devil of rebates.
