100GB HDD with "DataBurst Cache?"???

Amused

Dell is now offering as an otion to the 8100 a "New Dell Edition 100GB 7200RPM Hard Drive with "DataBurst Cache?"

Who makes these?

Here's the specs Dell published:

Average seek time:
(this sounds crappy)
(Read)
9.5 ms
(Write)
10.9 ms

Average Latency:
4.2 ms

Buffer Cache:
8 MB

Spindle Start Time:
8.0 seconds

Well, I know my X15 36LP has an 8MB cache, but I think that would be a first for an IDE drive. Unless Dell got its own "special" version, then it's a typo.

<< According to StorageReview.com, the new Western Digital only has 2MB cache. The 8MB could just be a typo tho.

I don't believe so, Because Dell is doing a lot of hyping over it's cache size and disk capacity.
