I just got my system rebuilt I downloaded the 1006 Bios of course the ASUS server called it 1004. anyhow I install it, I go to SLI configuration menu and there is only a selection for easy plug. In the past it had a selection for SLI, auto single and dual (or something like that)
Anyone have any idea what the heck is going on?

Thanks!

Tonight I downloaded both the 1007 beta and the 1006 bios neither have SLI mode listed under SLI Configuration (go figure, no punn intended). I have loaded the 1004 bios and I have the SLI mode back.

Nvidia
I was running the 75.90 beta Nvidia drivers even after loading the 1004 bios I could not get SLI going in XP. I have gone back and loaded 66.93 and appear to have SLi now.

So to recap 1004 Bios and 66.93 nvidia drivers.

I am not sure who is worse right now Nvidia or Asus but I have had it with both.

Also, for the record my Viewsonic LCD monitor does work OK with SLI

Is SLI disabled or just not a bios option anymore. There's really no reason for it to be in the bios since it's driver controlled; no?

Did the bios setting actually work for Deluxe owners with SLI cards? Didn't you guys also had to switch the EZ Switch pcb to dual vga operation? If yes there was no point of this bios setting in the first place. So I believe the removal of this option was made intentionally. They will probably let the Deluxe owners choose the mode of operation with the EZ Switch pcb and the Premium owners choose from the bios as there is not EZ Switch pcb card there (it has the pericom controller).

I tested this BIOS briefly, and SLI still worked fine for me. However, my overclock which was stable with 1005.003 wouldnt be stable with 1007beta. So I'm using the former.

But yeah, taking the SLI option out of BIOS isnt keeping the board from having it enabled.

Relax, they just removed the option from the BIOS. It has been gone ever since revision 1003 or 1004 I think. The option didn't really work / do anything in the versions that had the option anyway I don't think. You can still use SLI.
