Just to warn you, you will also need a special crimping tool to make the CAT5 cables. You can find one for about $20 at electronics stores.

That is a pretty good price actually. I recently priced some in town and got Leviton Cat5 cable for 80¢ every 10ft. That would be $80 for 1000ft.

btw: Last time I checked, Onvia had a crimp tool for $14 with free shipping as always.
