My Babbage difference engine can get a solid 5fps in LoL. How are Intel going to convince me to upgrade, short of a low cost GT4e?
Is this really useful for anything though if you're not a rocket scientist? The amish seem to get by just fine without these modern Babbage differ thingamajigs.I can't even calculate (SIN(12.27634623E37)^91), with out a calculator or computer.

5 fps on a Babbage is impressive. Must be over-rpm:ed. But consider upgrading to a used Colossus. Maybe you can get a nice deal on it at a museum.
Besides the benefit of higher FPS, a side effect of a big overclock on the Babbage is the massive upper body you get cranking the thing. It might be the only time in history a hardcore LoL addiction helps get someone laid.
Don't forget that 8 bits of L1 cache compressed via an extremely lossy algorithm.I still rely on a computer, which was designed (maybe by accident), something like 100 million years ago.
Unfortunately my high speed floating point unit (mental arithmetic), is rather slow, and prefers to use a calculator.

I'm led to believe that in about 100 million years, we will have the Mk 2 version, of my computer. (Called Evolution).

Instead of computers, in the future we will just implant floating-point units and extra cache in our brains.

And you retards want to call out another user as trolling one who provided proof of a CPU today lasting 20 years from now but somehow this guy isn't trolling.
We have to invent skynet first (AI in general) to make quantum computers worth it for consumers.Nah, with the Intel quantum computing investment, that will reduce upgrade cycle to days! Because with every bit you add that adds up to the exponent. So n+1 bits becomes 2^n+1 bits. And because the number of bits will increase exponentially according to Moore's Law, the update cycles will decrease exponentially.

I would say internet is the closest thing to skynet, so it's right here right now.

I hereby nominate this thread for AT's CPUs and Overclocking "best troll of a troll" award for 2015.
ppft. i run oblivion at max settings on my antikythera mechanism.
