Minimize WMP9 to the taskbar (don't think it can go smaller than that )

Turn it off in WMP8. In WMP9, have the internet info stuff off.

The way I see it, 2.x is more of just a Nullsoft product, while 3.x is an AOL product.

I prefer 2.x over everything else, it works how you would expect an audio player to and it has a clean interface.

winamp is better then anything cause it works and it works well. lots of you dont like winamp 3 because its bloated. o well I use it and love it mainily cause of teh MMD3 skin cause i can dock the damn thing and never worry about movin it. and i use it to play videos cause WMP sucks my nuts.

It just depends on what you want.

If you want mad plugin capability, and stability....winamp 2.x IMHO. QCD is pretty good as well, although i've had it crash here and there.

If you want a no frills, stable, easy to use, and crash free, light proggie.....you simply can't beat foobar. Who the hell needs a grx equalizer anyway. Gimme playlists, and gimme basic controls......foobar is the best when it comes to that......I only have one request for foobar to make it top notch....gimme a draggable track position, instead of just +/- intervals. FOOBAR has never crashed on me once.


WMP 9 is ok w/ the dockable part----but I just never got used to it. Plus, like has already been said...DRM, and that means hell no.

Another vote for Winamp 2

WMP seems to bog down my system too much. (even after a recent reformat and reinstall). Until I get around to putting winamp back on my computer (maybe tonight), I've been going more or less without music. Nothing worse than WMP causing a system crash in the middle of a grad paper.

I've used winamp since 1997 and it works and works well. I find Foobar is better at playing music because i can customize the playlist (more than winamp). THe playlist handling is smoother and has more features than winamp. For now, i don't care what skins i use cause i have it minimized. I'm supporting foobar, it's at 0.586 and about 5 months of coding and its gonna be enhanced more. Winamp2x is already up to 2.90 and then some work on winamp3, and work is being done on winamp5. All in the years passed.

Once Peter finished the coding and it's bugs, he is gonna dived the core and the GUI. Meaning, a simple DLL is gonna change the GUI to whatever you want. Whether it's gonna implement docking, i don't know. foobar is the ultimate music player, bar none. Winamp 2.90 is an EXCELLENT media player.

I always use Winamp... I like 2.x better then 3.x but I also love the darn MMD skin so Im stuck with 3.x

yes that's true. Eventually, they are gonna port the skin engine from wa3 into a new crossbred winamp5. winamp2.90 plays video quite well.
